Want to Get Rid of Dark Circles Under Your Eyes? Break These 4 Habits

3. Never Using Sunscreen

We understand putting on suncream can be a hassle. But even though it might be tempting to leave the house without sunscreen, we recommend putting it on, even when you’re only going for a short walk or it’s not that sunny.

When you leave the skin under your eyes at the mercy of the sun, a process called hyperpigmentation can occur. This can make spots or patches of skin appear darker than the surrounding areas, thus creating bags under your eyes. So protect the skin around your eyes with sunscreen if you want to prevent this.

4. Eating Too Much Salt

This might sound strange, but if you’re suffering from dark circles under your eyes and you’re not sleep-deprived, your diet might have something to do with it. More specifically, it might be a good idea to cut down on the salt, as salt causes your body to retain moisture.

This, in turn, will make the skin around your eyes look doughy and swollen. So, if you have unexplainable dark bags under your eyes, you might do well to be mindful about the amounts of salt in your food.
