1. Washing Your Face With Water That’s Too Hot
Some people really like washing their face with hot water. To them, the warmth feels nice. However, even though it may feel nice, it’s not the best thing to do if you want to get rid of the bags under your eyes. This is because the hot water and steam can accentuate the dark skin under your eyes.
There are instances where steam is good for you, for instance, when you’re suffering from a forehead cavity infection. However, in everyday use, it’s probably better for your skin to wash your face with lukewarm water and rinse with cool water afterwards.
2. Using The Wrong Makeup Remover
It’s tempting to use the cheap makeup remover, since you might think that all makeup removers are created equal. However, this is not the case. The skin around your eyes is far more delicate than the rest of your face and can therefore not deal well with aggressive cleansing.
That’s why we would recommend using a mild cleanser for the skin around your eyes instead of the more aggressive products you can use for the rest of your face. You can get a special eye makeup remover that’s less aggressive and won’t sting if you get some of it in your eyes.
