1. Chanca Piedra
Chanca Piedra, which literally means ‘stone breaker’ in Spanish, is a herb that is found in the rainforests of the Amazon, among other places. It’s known to improve the kidney and liver function that has also been shown to help against kidney stones, which is how it got its name.
It’s not known how it works: it could be that the herb relaxes the urethra, washes out stone fragments, or increases passing of calcium. Whatever the reason, however, it does appear to work. The herb is most commonly consumed as a tea.
