11. Traffic Jam at The Brandonberg Gate For The First Time Since The Fall of The Berlin Wall

One could assume this photo doesn’t really show anything special. We see traffic jams all the time, especially nowadays. But this traffic jam in particular marks a very special moment in German history.


This traffic jam was caused by the fall of the Berlin wall, which allowed citizens of of Germany to travel freely between East and West for the first time in 20 years. Many people did this, of course, which created this huge traffic jam.

12. Spectators Witness The Signing of The Treaty of Versailles At The End of The First World War

After the First World War ended, a very important event was the signing of the treaty of Versailles. This treaty officially ended the state of war between the Germans and the Allied Forces and is considered among the most important peace treaties in history.


Of course, everybody wanted to see the moment the treaty was signed, leading to many people standing on tables and chairs to get a peek.

13. The Iceberg That Sank The Titanic

Perhaps the most famous sunken ship of all time, the sinking of the Titanic is one of the most well-known marine disasters. The ship sunk in 1912 thanks to a collision with the iceberg we see on the picture above.

Even though it’s in black and white, if you look closely at the picture, you can still see the black and red paint from the ship on the side of the iceberg.
