8. Don’t Wash Your Hair Every Day
Everyone’s hair is different, we know that. Yet almost nobody needs to wash their hair every day. Of course, washing your hair removes all harmful bacteria, but it also removes the healthy bacteria that your hair needs. That is why it is not recommended to wash your hair every day. It is better to wash your hair only a few times a week: it’s best to wash your hair about 2 to 3 times a week.
These healthy bacteria provide a microbiome that regulates the pH value, also called the acidity, of your hair. If you wash this biome too much, you ensure that harmful bacteria can nestle more easily. As a result, you may suffer from inflammation, scalp irritation and fungi. If your hair feels too greasy, it might be wise to switch shampoo.
9. Beware of The Dangers of Wrapping Your Hair In a Towel
Another thing that can be harmful to your hair is wrapping it in a towel. This is particularly common among women. Hair is quite sensitive and fragile when wet. That is why you may inadvertently pull on your hair and break it off if you wrap it in a cloth. If you want to wrap your hair in a cloth, try doing it without twisting your hair too hard and tight. The use of a thin and finer towel can also limit the damage. In addition, it is also good to comb your hair beforehand and wait until it is a bit dry before you pull the towel over it.
